Best Kilian Perfumes in Oman
Article Summary: By Kilian, which now trades as Kilian Paris, was founded in 2007 by Kilian Hennessy, a grandson of the Kilian Hennessy who ran the cognac house in the 1970s, and the Estee Lauder Companies announced they had bought it on February 25, 2016 without disclosing terms. The founder is still listed as its creative director in 2026. For a buyer in Oman the house is unusually difficult: Ounass Oman is the only retailer we found pricing it in rials, bykilian.com does not ship to Oman at all, and Sephora's Oman pages carry the fragrance without a price. Angels' Share, the 2020 cognac gourmand by Benoist Lapouza, is the one bottle the Omani market actually stocks, at roughly OMR 98.500 to 113.200 for 50 ml depending on which Ounass page you land on. Intoxicated, the 2014 cardamom coffee by Calice Becker, does not appear on Ounass Oman in any size. MOJ makes a reading of each: Intoxicated from OMR 3.800 and Angel Share from OMR 4.300, each in three sizes, every size available on November 5, 2026.
- Ounass Oman lists two different prices for the same 50 ml Angels' Share on its women's and men's pages, 113.200 and 98.500, captured the same day.
- Our 50 ml Angel Share is OMR 6.500, which is fifteen to seventeen times less than the original at the only Omani retailer pricing it.
- Intoxicated has no Omani price at all, so our reading is the only way to buy that cardamom coffee profile in rials.
- The one documented By Kilian counter in Oman, at Capital Store in Al Qurum, was reported in 2016 and we could not confirm it still exists.

Kilian Paris: a Hennessy grandson, then Estee Lauder
The cognac connection is real, but it is one generation further out than most write-ups suggest. By Kilian was founded in 2007 by Kilian Hennessy, and the man he is named after, the Kilian Hennessy who lived from 1907 to 2010, was the fifth-generation descendant of Richard Hennessy who founded the cognac house in 1765, ran Hennessy as its chief executive in the 1970s, and led the 1971 merger with Moet et Chandon. The founder of the perfume house is that man's grandson. The two share a name, which is why the family link is so often overstated: the perfumer is a great-grandson's generation removed from the business his house keeps referencing. The Estee Lauder Companies announced the acquisition on February 25, 2016 and did not publish a price, and no credible figure has surfaced since, so anyone quoting one is guessing. Hennessy himself has not left; Estee Lauder still lists him as founder and creative director, and he gave an on-the-record interview as the Kilian Paris founder in September 2026. The house has also moved beyond fragrance under its new owner, naming Sir John its first makeup creative director in 2024, opening a new Paris boutique in March 2025, and launching a trio of eaux de parfum called The Cocktails in August 2026. The legacy name By Kilian is what search engines and Omani shoppers still use; the brand itself now signs everything Kilian Paris.
The two By Kilian fragrances MOJ makes in Oman
1. Angel Share: the 2020 cognac gourmand
The name is a distilling term. When cognac or whisky ages in oak, a share of the spirit evaporates through the wood and is lost, and distillers have long called that portion the angels' share. Angels' Share launched in October 2020 as the opening fragrance of The Liquors, a collection built on the founder's family trade and dressed in Art Deco, and it was composed by Benoist Lapouza, a perfumer at drom in Paris who had earlier worked at Takasago, Quest, and Fragrance Resources, where he co-founded the Paris subsidiary with Pierre Bourdon. It is worth knowing that the brand and the enthusiast databases print different note lists. Kilian Paris publishes a short structured pyramid of cognac, then oak and cinnamon, then tonka bean and sandalwood, and mentions praline and vanilla only in its prose; Parfumo prints praline and vanilla in the base, which is the list most people recognise. Our reading follows the longer version, because the praline is a large part of why the fragrance reads as a dessert rather than a drink. The brand's own bottle is refillable and runs from 7.5 to 100 ml with a 250 ml carafe above it. One historical note, and it is a single report rather than a pattern: in November 2020 The Zoe Report wrote that the fragrance kept selling through and that Sephora, Bloomingdale's, and Neiman Marcus had none left, at a US price of 195 dollars at the time. We have found no award and no named publication documenting the viral moment people often attribute to it, so we are not claiming either.

Base: Oak Wood, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tonka
2. Intoxicated: the 2014 cardamom coffee
This is the one that should sell better in Oman than it does anywhere else, and the one the Omani market cannot actually supply. Intoxicated was announced in June 2014 for an October release, composed by Calice Becker, and it arrived in a collection then called Addictive State of Mind; Kilian Paris now files it under The Cellars, so a 2014 review and the current product page will disagree about where it belongs. The brand prints mocha coffee, cardamom, and vanilla as its main notes, with cardamom on top, mocha coffee and cinnamon in the heart, and vanilla and vetiver at the base, and the original 2014 announcement also listed nutmeg, which the current page has dropped. The brand does not state a concentration anywhere on its own page; retailers sell it as an eau de parfum, which is worth knowing before anyone quotes one at you. Its appeal here is obvious: cardamom and coffee together is the smell of an Omani sitting room, and a French house charging two hundred and seventy dollars at launch for a refillable 50 ml of it is a particular kind of compliment. Our reading keeps the cardamom and coffee opening, adds nutmeg and pink pepper, and puts Turkish rose and orange blossom in the middle so it lands warmer and less bitter than a plain coffee fragrance. It is also the cheaper of our two, which makes it the better place to start. Our oud guide covers the heavier end of the same shelf.

The By Kilian fragrances we do not make
Two of them, and they are both Angels' Share in another form. Angels' Share Paradis arrived in February 2025 as an extrait de parfum, the sixth scent in The Liquors, composed by Lapouza with Hennessy, and it puts raspberry liqueur over the same cognac, cinnamon, tonka, and oak frame. Angels' Share On The Rocks followed in August 2025 as an eau de parfum, with bitter orange over the cognac accord. Neither has a MOJ reading, and we are not going to pretend our Angel Share covers them, because a raspberry extrait and a bitter orange eau de parfum are different fragrances with the same surname. Beyond The Liquors, the house sells Good Girl Gone Bad, Black Phantom, Roses on Ice, Apple Brandy, and a long list of others across its collections; Estee Lauder's own brand page cannot agree with itself on whether that list runs to thirty or thirty-four, so we will not print a number. What matters for this guide is that the two we do make are the two with the clearest reason to exist in Oman: a cold-season cognac gourmand, and a cardamom coffee the local market does not sell at all.
Where to buy By Kilian in Oman
This is the shortest section of any brand guide we have written, because there is almost nothing to report. Ounass Oman is the only retailer we found with Angels' Share priced in Omani rials, and it does not agree with itself: on November 5, 2026 its women's designer page showed the 50 ml at OMR 113.200 and the 100 ml at 168.200, while its men's page showed the same two sizes at 98.500 and 161.400, captured the same day. Treat 98.500 to 113.200 as the range for 50 ml rather than trusting either figure. The same page carries Angels' Share Paradis at 155.100, a 150 ml body spray at 44.500, a layering set at 130.500, and a full-range set at 228.000, and it labels Paradis an eau de parfum where the brand calls it an extrait. Sephora Oman has an Angels' Share page on its Omani locale but rendered no price, no size, and no way to buy when we looked, and the same blank pattern showed on an unrelated Kilian page, so that reads as a site problem rather than a delisting. bykilian.com will not help: its country selector offers the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Europe, with no Middle East option at all. Paris Gallery opened its first Oman store at The Opera Galleria by the Royal Opera House in Muscat in May 2016, but the coverage names no brands and we could not confirm the house is carried there. The only counter ever documented in Oman was at Capital Store in Ocean Mall, Al Qurum, reported in a 2016 interview with the brand's then regional manager, and ten years later we cannot confirm it is still there. We found nothing at Muscat Grand Mall, Oman Avenues Mall, or Mall of Oman. Our where-to-buy guide lists the shops that are reliably here.
How to choose between the two
They are both gourmands and both cold-season, so the real question is sweet or spiced. Angel Share is the sweeter and the more obvious: cognac and cinnamon on top, praline and tonka through the middle, and oak and sandalwood underneath to stop it collapsing into sugar. It is a dinner and a December fragrance, it suits men and women equally, and at OMR 4.300 for 30 ml it is the cheapest way to find out whether a boozy dessert works on you before anyone spends a hundred rials at Ounass. Intoxicated is drier, darker, and more regional: cardamom and ground coffee first, rose and cinnamon behind it, vanilla and sandalwood last, and it reads as hospitality rather than pudding. If you already wear vanilla and want the grown-up version, take Angel Share; if you want something that smells like where you live and costs OMR 3.800 to try, take Intoxicated. Our Dior Homme Intense piece covers the nearest thing to these on a designer counter, and the best perfumes in Oman list has the wider field. Stock moves, so the product pages are the final word.
