Best Jean Paul Gaultier Perfumes in Oman
Article Summary: Jean Paul Gaultier is one of the few designer houses that is properly stocked in Oman: Al Haji carries more than twenty of its fragrances in rials, from Le Male at OMR 32.000 to Le Male Elixir Absolu at 56.000, and Ounass Oman carries the women's line. The house itself has changed completely in six years. Gaultier showed his last couture collection in January 2020 and retired after fifty years; Puig has held the fragrance licence since January 2016, taking it from Shiseido's Beaute Prestige International which had made Classique and Le Male since 1993, and has been the majority shareholder of the fashion house since 2011; and Duran Lantink became the first permanent creative director in April 2025. Le Male, the 1995 Francis Kurkdjian composition, is the house's anchor and Puig calls it one of the three best-selling masculine fragrances in the world. MOJ makes two readings for Oman, both from the Scandal line: Scandal M from OMR 2.500 and Scandal W from OMR 3.200, each in three sizes, every size available on November 4, 2026.
- Scandal is now thirteen fragrances across the women's and men's lines, four of them launched since January 2025, so the tier on the box matters more than the name.
- Al Haji in Oman is the only Gulf retailer we found carrying the house end to end in rials, which makes it the price to compare against.
- Ounass Oman and Al Haji disagree sharply on the women's line: Scandal 80 ml is OMR 39.000 at one and 62.500 to 73.600 at the other.
- We do not make a Le Male reading for Oman, which is the obvious gap in this list and we say so rather than padding it.
| MOJ version | Original | Year | MOJ from (OMR) |

| Scandal M | Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal pour Homme | 2021 | 3.200 |
Jean Paul Gaultier and Puig: the designer left, the fragrances did not
The house you buy from today is not the one that made its name. Jean Paul Gaultier showed his final haute couture collection in Paris in January 2020 and retired after fifty years in fashion, and for five years afterwards the house ran on guest designers, among them Olivier Rousteing, Glenn Martens, Haider Ackermann and Simone Rocha, before Puig appointed Duran Lantink as its first permanent creative director on April 15, 2025; he showed ready-to-wear that September and couture in January 2026. The fragrances sat outside all of that. Puig bought Hermes's entire forty-five percent stake in the fashion business in May 2011 for sixteen million euros, plus a further holding from the designer, which made it the majority shareholder, and on January 1, 2016, it took the fragrance licence from Shiseido's Beaute Prestige International, the company that had held it since 1993 and had made Classique in 1993 and Le Male in 1995. Puig reported 5.04 billion euros of revenue for 2025, up 7.8 percent on a like-for-like basis, with fragrance and fashion at 3.65 billion of that. It does not publish a figure for Gaultier alone, but it does say Le Male remains one of the three best-selling masculine fragrances in the world, which is the company's own claim rather than a published ranking. Our men's guide has the house's neighbours.
The two Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances MOJ makes in Oman
1. Scandal W: the 2017 honey chypre
Scandal launched in France in June 2017, an eau de parfum by Daphne Bugey with Fabrice Pellegrin and Christophe Raynaud, and the brand lists only four notes for it: blood orange and gardenia on top, honey in the heart, patchouli at the base. That makes it a honey chypre, which almost no other designer women's fragrance is. The honey is the sticky kind rather than the clean kind, cut with blood orange so it does not sit heavy and dragged down by patchouli so it does not read as a dessert. The bottle broke with the house's own signature: Gaultier built his fragrance identity on a corseted torso, and Scandal arrived as a pair of pink legs. Our reading follows the longer list that retailers and enthusiasts print rather than the brand's four names, and in Oman it is the cheapest bottle in this guide.
Top: Blood Orange, Mandarin, Bergamot
Heart: Honey, Gardenia, Orange Blossom
Base: Caramel, Patchouli, Beeswax, Licorice
2. Scandal M: the 2021 men's answer
Four years after the women's bottle, Gaultier put the same idea on the men's counter. Scandal pour Homme arrived in 2021 as an eau de toilette by Quentin Bisch, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto and Christophe Raynaud, in refillable 50, 100 and 150 ml, and it swapped honey for caramel and tonka with a herbal lift over the top. It is a gourmand that stops short of being a dessert, which is rarer in men's designer perfumery than it sounds and still uncommon on Omani counters. Our reading keeps the blood orange opening and the caramel-tonka base and puts clary sage and lavender in the middle, so it reads drier and greener than the women's version. Both of ours are gourmands; this is the one to wear to dinner rather than to the office.

Base: Tonka Bean, Vetiver, Vanilla, Patchouli
The Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances we do not make
Two more sit on our Oman store without a card today. Le Male Elixir, our reading of the 2023 parfum, has the 30 and 50 ml available but not the 100 ml; Ultra Male, our reading of the 2015 Francis Kurkdjian eau de toilette intense, has none of its three sizes. We name them rather than pretend otherwise, and both are worth a look on the product pages if the sizes come back. The bigger gap is Le Male itself. The 1995 original is the house's anchor and the one fragrance any Gaultier list should open with, and we do not make a reading of it for Oman. We would rather say that than pad this guide. Beyond our range, the house also sells La Belle, Le Beau, Gaultier Divine and Classique, and Scandal alone now runs to thirteen fragrances across the two lines, four of them launched since January 2025, so the tier printed on the box, Le Parfum or Absolu or Intense or Elixir, matters more than the name on it.
Where to buy Jean Paul Gaultier in Oman
This is the unusual part, and it is good news. Al Haji carries the house end to end in rials, which almost no Gulf retailer does for a designer brand: Le Male 125 ml at OMR 32.000, Le Male Le Parfum Intense at 45.000, Le Male Elixir at 49.000, Le Male Elixir Absolu at 56.000, Ultra Male Intense at 49.000, Scandal eau de parfum 80 ml at 39.000, Scandal by Night at 41.900, Scandal pour Homme eau de parfum intense 100 ml at 45.000, La Belle at 44.000, Gaultier Divine at 45.000, Le Beau at 41.500 and Classique Collector at 33.000, all seen on November 4, 2026. Ounass Oman carries the women's line and prices it very differently: Scandal 50 ml at OMR 49.500 and the 80 ml at both 62.500 and 73.600 depending on the listing, Scandal Intense 80 ml at 69.000, Scandal Elixir at 59.500 and 75.000. That is a gap of twenty-three rials or more on the same 80 ml bottle, which is the single most useful thing in this article: check Al Haji before you buy the women's line anywhere else. Sephora Oman has product pages for the house but showed no prices when we looked. Our where-to-buy guide lists the authorised shops.
How to choose between the two
They are closer than a men's and women's pair usually is, because both are built on the same blood orange opening and both end sweet. Scandal W is the heavier and the more divisive: honey and beeswax over patchouli, a night fragrance for the cool months, two sprays and no more, and at OMR 2.500 for 30 ml it is the cheapest way to find out whether honey suits you at all. Scandal M is drier, with clary sage and lavender keeping the caramel in check, and it works through a wider part of the year and a wider part of the day. If you are buying for someone else and do not know their taste, take the men's; if you are buying for yourself and already know you like sweet, take the women's. Our women's guide and the best perfumes in Oman list have the alternatives. Stock changes, so the product pages are the final word.
