Best Creed Perfumes in Oman
Article Summary: The best Creed perfumes in Oman are Aventus, the 2010 pineapple and birch eau de parfum that is the most searched men's fragrance in the Sultanate; Absolu Aventus, its darker 2023 edition; Green Irish Tweed, the 1985 green fougere that gave the world the Cool Water style; and Silver Mountain Water, the 1995 tea and blackcurrant freshener. Creed has no boutique in Oman, but Ounass Oman delivers all four at OMR 149 to 209 a bottle. MOJ makes a reading of each in 30, 50 and 100 ml from OMR 3.500, and all sizes were available on October 16, 2026.
- Creed says it began as a London tailor in 1760; historians say its first commercial perfume was sold around 1970. The house belonged to the Creed family until 2020, to Kering from 2023 and to L'Oreal since March 2026.
- Aventus (2010) was created by Olivier Creed and his son Erwin with IFF perfumer Jean-Christophe Herault; Kering called it the house's top seller when it bought Creed.
- Absolu Aventus (2023) is an eau de parfum, not an extrait, and adds grapefruit, cardamom, cinnamon and vetiver to the Aventus frame.
- Green Irish Tweed (1985) and Silver Mountain Water (1995) are credited by the house to Olivier Creed and by independent historians to Pierre Bourdon, who went on to compose Davidoff Cool Water in 1988.
- Ounass Oman prices on October 16, 2026: Aventus OMR 169.400, Absolu Aventus 208.600, Green Irish Tweed 162.500, Silver Mountain Water 162.500, all 100 ml. MOJ versions from OMR 3.500 to 4.300 for 30 ml.

Who makes Creed perfume, and who owns it now
The story the house tells and the story historians tell are different, and a buyer in Oman should hear both. Creed says it was founded in London in 1760 by James Henry Creed as a tailor, moved to Paris in 1854 at the request of Empress Eugenie and turned to perfume along the way. Independent writers, among them the critic Luca Turin and the author Gabe Oppenheim, who spent a book on the question, say the family was tailoring until the 1960s and sold its first commercial perfume around 1970; Business of Fashion dates the first scent to 1970 as well. What nobody disputes is the modern house: Olivier Creed, the sixth generation, ran it as master perfumer from the 1970s until his death in May 2026, and his son Erwin, the seventh, worked beside him as co-creative director. The family sold a majority to BlackRock's long-term fund in 2020. Kering bought the whole house in 2023, for a reported 3.5 billion euros, to seed its new beauty division, then sold that division to L'Oreal in a deal completed in March 2026. Creed today is a L'Oreal Luxe brand with a Paris chief executive, Nathalie Berger-Duquene, appointed in 2025.
Two things follow for the reader. First, the house's production claims, hand-weighed batches matured in Ury near Fontainebleau and left unfiltered, are the brand's own and are repeated here as such. Second, Creed's reputation for batch variation in Aventus is real enough that collectors trade batch codes, which is worth knowing before you pay OMR 169 for a bottle. MOJ makes readings of four Creed fragrances in our designer inspired perfumes collection, and the usual rules apply: every fact about an original is stated where two or more independent sources agree, original prices are from Ounass Oman as listed this week in rials, and no reading of ours is presented as the original.
Where to find Creed in Oman
There is no Creed boutique or counter in Oman, and the house's store list names no Omani stockist; the nearest boutiques are in Dubai, on Fashion Avenue at Dubai Mall and at Mall of the Emirates, and Creed opened a Doha flagship in December 2024. What Oman has is Ounass Oman, which lists more than twenty Creed references with rial prices and delivers in two to four days, free above OMR 100. The four below are all there. If you want to smell the originals before buying, a Dubai weekend is still the honest answer; if you want to know whether the style suits you before paying for a flight, a MOJ reading at OMR 3.500 is the cheaper experiment, and our guide to where to buy perfumes in Oman covers the rest of the map.
The four, with the MOJ versions
1. Aventus: the one the country searches for
Aventus is the most searched men's fragrance in Oman by a clear margin, roughly 1,500 searches a month across its English and Arabic spellings, which is more than Sauvage and more than any Amouage except the brand name itself. It launched in 2010 as an eau de parfum for the house's 250th anniversary. The brand credits Olivier Creed; Jean-Christophe Herault, a perfumer at IFF, has said he composed it working directly with Olivier, and the fair wording is that Olivier and Erwin Creed created it with Herault. Olivier Creed said every note was inspired by a stage of Napoleon's life, from the fruit of his youth to the smoke and moss of the emperor; the current brand page no longer mentions him. The pyramid Ounass lists is the one everyone knows: pineapple, bergamot, blackcurrant and apple over patchouli, dry birch, rose and Moroccan jasmine, on vanilla, musk, oakmoss and ambergris. Basenotes readers voted it the best men's fragrance ever made in 2013, and Kering named it the house's top seller when it bought Creed. Ounass Oman lists the 100 ml at OMR 169.400 and does not carry the 50 ml.
Our Aventus follows the same order: pineapple, bergamot, blackcurrant and apple first, birch, patchouli, rose and jasmine in the heart, musk, oakmoss, ambergris and vanilla at the base. It is the only Creed reading we sell in four sizes, 30 ml at OMR 3.500 up to 200 ml at OMR 13.000, and every size was available this week; the 100 ml costs less than a twentieth of the Ounass bottle. Office, weddings and dinners, spring and the cooler months for the smoke, and it sits at the front of our perfumes for men collection for a reason.
Top: Pineapple, Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Apple
Heart: Birch, Patchouli, Rose, Jasmine
Base: Musk, Oakmoss, Ambergris, Vanilla
2. Aventus Absolute: the Absolu, darker and spicier
The original is called Absolu Aventus, and it is an eau de parfum, not the extrait the name suggests. It appeared in November 2023 as a limited edition in a black 75 ml bottle, came back in 2024 as a triple-aged batch and in 2025 in regular 50 and 100 ml sizes, which is why Ounass Oman now lists it as a permanent line at OMR 149.400 for 50 ml and 208.600 for 100 ml, the most expensive Creed in the Sultanate. The house calls it the most intense expression of Aventus: the bergamot and pineapple stay, grapefruit enters the family for the first time, and cardamom, cinnamon, Haitian vetiver, Cashmeran, labdanum and ambroxan replace the fruit-and-musk sweetness of the original with something smokier and warmer. The perfumer has not been named by the brand, so we do not name one.
Our Aventus Absolute keeps the Aventus opening of pineapple, bergamot and blackcurrant, then turns the heart to birch, incense, jasmine and patchouli and the base to oud, ambergris, musk, vanilla and oakmoss. It is our own dark reading of the Aventus idea rather than a note-for-note copy of the Absolu, and it says so in the pyramid: the incense and oud are ours. Three sizes from OMR 4.300, all available this week; evenings, weddings and the winter months, one or two sprays.
Top: Pineapple, Bergamot, Blackcurrant
Heart: Birch, Incense, Jasmine, Patchouli
Base: Oud, Ambergris, Musk, Vanilla, Oakmoss
3. Green Irish: the 1985 green that became Cool Water
Green Irish Tweed is the Creed that perfumers respect most. It launched in 1985 as an eau de parfum; the house credits Olivier Creed, and independent historians credit Pierre Bourdon, who three years later composed Davidoff Cool Water on the same two molecules, dihydromyrcenol and a green sweet-pea material, and so turned Green Irish Tweed's idea into the most copied men's style of the next twenty years. The classic pyramid is lemon, Indian verbena and peppermint over violet leaves, on Florentine iris, sandalwood and ambergris; the house says it was inspired by the Irish countryside and by the tweed mills where a Creed once apprenticed. Creed's advertising has long attached Cary Grant's name to it, a claim nobody can check. Ounass Oman lists the 100 ml at OMR 162.500 and showed one left when we looked.
Our Green Irish opens on lemon, verbena and peppermint, softens through iris, violet leaf and jasmine and finishes on sandalwood, ambergris and musk. Three sizes from OMR 3.800, all available this week; the 100 ml is about a nineteenth of the Ounass price. Office and formal daytime, and the one Creed reading that works in an Omani summer, because the freshness cuts the heat rather than fighting it.
Top: Lemon, Verbena, Peppermint
Heart: Iris, Violet Leaf, Jasmine
Base: Sandalwood, Ambergris, Musk
4. Silver Water: the tea and blackcurrant freshener
Silver Mountain Water followed in 1995, another eau de parfum that the house credits to Olivier Creed and the historians to Bourdon. The brand's story is Olivier's skiing, icy streams through Alpine snow, and the brand pyramid is bergamot, blackcurrant, galbanum and orange over tea and an ozonic accord, on sandalwood and musk; Ounass lists a slightly different version with mandarin, neroli and green tea. Basenotes calls it one of the most unusual fresh fragrances ever made and one of the three Creeds that sell, with Aventus and Green Irish Tweed. It divides people, which is the point: the blackcurrant reads to some noses as fruit and to others as something sharper. Ounass Oman lists the 100 ml at OMR 162.500.
Our Silver Water opens on bergamot, mandarin and neroli, keeps the heart cool with green tea, blackcurrant and melon and finishes on musk, sandalwood and petitgrain. It is the only unisex reading of the four and the gentlest, so spray more in summer. Three sizes from OMR 3.800, all available this week; office, weekends and the hottest months, for men and women alike.
Top: Bergamot, Mandarin, Neroli
Heart: Green Tea, Blackcurrant, Melon
Base: Musk, Sandalwood, Petitgrain
The rest of the house, and which to buy first
Creed sells about two dozen fragrances in Oman through Ounass. The Aventus family alone has Aventus for Her from 2016 and Aventus Cologne from 2019, a lighter eau de parfum at OMR 162.500 that MOJ does not read. The older house, Royal Oud, Himalaya, Original Santal and the rest, is also on the site and also unread by us; we would rather say so than card a product that does not exist. If you want one Creed only, buy Aventus: it is the one Oman searches for, the cheapest of our four at OMR 3.500 and the most versatile. Buy Green Irish if you work outdoors or hate sweetness, Silver Water if you share bottles at home, and Aventus Absolute only if you already know and love Aventus and want it darker for winter. The wider ranking of what the Sultanate wears is in our guide to the best perfumes in Oman.
