Who makes Armani perfume

L'Oreal, and for longer than most people realise. The licence dates from 1988, was renewed in 2018 through to 2050, and is one of the longest in the business, which is why the Armani fragrance shelf did not flinch when Giorgio Armani died on 4 September 2025 at 91 and the house passed to his heirs with a new group chief executive the following month. Nothing about the perfumes is made in Milan; they are briefed by L'Oreal's luxury division and composed at the big fragrance suppliers, so the perfumer on an Armani bottle is a Firmenich or IFF name. For the nine below that is mostly Cecile Matton, who wrote Stronger With You and its Absolutely and Oud editions; Carlos Benaim and Bruno Jovanovic for My Way; Christine Nagel, now Hermes's in-house perfumer, for Si; and Fabrice Pellegrin for Vert Malachite in the Prive line. Where the house names no perfumer, as with the Leather, Tobacco and Amber editions, we name none.

Armani does publish notes, in prose and sometimes as a pyramid, and we quote the house before our own. One naming point for the counter: the bottle says Emporio Armani Stronger With You, Emporio being the younger line, and the fragrance is a men's eau de toilette whose flankers are mostly eau de parfum; our interpretations drop the Emporio and keep the You.

Is there an Armani store in Oman?

Not for perfume. Armani Beauty's Gulf site serves the UAE and Saudi Arabia and lists no Oman counter; we found no Giorgio Armani boutique in the Mall of Oman, Muscat Grand Mall or Oman Avenues directories. What exists is distribution: Ounass Oman ships Armani from inside the Sultanate in two to four days with product-page prices in rials, and Sephora's Mall of Oman store and Oman site carry the line. The independent perfumeries sell the same bottles for roughly half Ounass's price and claim no authorisation from L'Oreal; we quote Ounass and not them.

Stronger With You, and why five of these nine are built on it

Stronger With You is the Armani that Oman searches, by a wide margin, and it is one of the few designer launches of the last decade to spawn a family that sells as well as the parent. The original is a 2017 eau de toilette by Cecile Matton, and the house's own notes are cardamom, pink pepper and violet leaf; sage; a chestnut accord; vanilla. The chestnut is the whole idea, roasted and faintly sweet, and the flankers each push one material: Intensely in 2019 pushed toffee and cinnamon; Leather in 2020 added a leather signature; Absolutely in 2021, at parfum strength, added rum; Oud in 2022 added oud over lavandin; Amber in February 2023 added an amber accord with Provence lavender and Madagascar vanilla, in what the house calls a fougere ambery, as a global limited edition; and Tobacco, in February 2024, was a Middle East limited edition on tobacco absolute, chilli and cinnamon leaves. MOJ carries interpretations of six of those seven on this store; Intensely is the one missing.

The nine, with the MOJ versions

1. You

The parent. Stronger With You launched in 2017 as an eau de toilette by Cecile Matton, and the house lists cardamom, pink pepper and violet leaf up top, sage in the heart, a chestnut accord and vanilla underneath. It is sweet without being a dessert, and it is the Armani that a man in Muscat under thirty most likely already owns. Ounass Oman lists the 50 ml at OMR 40.900 and a 100 ml gift set with a 10 ml at OMR 52.900; across the border the 100 ml is AED 525. Our You follows the house pyramid with chestnut cream and lavender in the heart, which is the common reading, and all three sizes are available at the lowest price in this guide.

2. You Absolutely

The strongest of the family. Stronger With You Absolutely launched in 2021, again by Matton, at what the house calls parfum strength, and it adds rum to the lavender, chestnut and vanilla of the original, which makes it the evening and winter edition. Ounass Oman lists the 100 ml at OMR 63.900, available, and the UAE price is AED 610. Our You Absolutely reads the rum as coffee and cinnamon in the heart, so it is darker and more gourmand than the house version, and it is the one we would hand to a man who found the original too polite. All three sizes are available.

3. You Tobacco

The one made for this region. Stronger With You Tobacco launched in February 2024 as a Middle East limited edition eau de parfum, and the house describes an absolute tobacco given a spicy dimension by chilli and cinnamon leaves, over bourbon vanilla, chestnut, smoked guaiac, benzoin and amber. Armani names no perfumer for it and nor do we. Because it was a limited edition it is thin on the ground now: not on Ounass Oman, and AED 550 at Ounass UAE, unavailable when we checked. Our You Tobacco keeps the tobacco leaf, honey and cinnamon heart and the vanilla base, with apple and violet leaf up top, and it is one of the few ways left to reach the profile. All three sizes are available.

4. You Leather

The dressed-up one. Stronger With You Leather launched in 2020 and the house describes warm spices with a rich leather signature: elemi, chestnut and spices, then Provence lavender and sage, then leather, vanilla and guaiac wood. It is the family's formal edition, the one for a winter wedding rather than a summer evening. It is not on Ounass Oman; the UAE price is AED 545, unavailable at Ounass when we checked. Our You Leather follows the leather accord, cinnamon and lavender heart over vanilla, tonka and chestnut, and all three sizes are available at the same price as the original You.

5. Stronger Oud

The Gulf edition. Stronger With You Oud launched in 2022, by Cecile Matton, and the house calls it a fougere ambery and woody fragrance that combines oud with lavandin and vanilla, reinterpreting the original's signature. It is a soft, sweet oud rather than a traditional one, closer to the family than to the souq. It is not on Ounass Oman; AED 515 at Faces UAE, unavailable when we checked. Our Stronger Oud puts the oud in the heart with chestnut cream and sage, on vanilla, amber and tonka, and it is the one in this guide for a man who wants oud for Eid without leaving the Armani sweetness behind. All three sizes are available.

6. You Amber

The warm one. Stronger With You Amber launched on 28 February 2023 as an eau de parfum and a global limited edition, and the house describes a warm amber accord combined with lavender from Provence and vanilla from Madagascar, in a family it calls fougere ambery. Trade press names Cecile Matton; the house does not, so we leave the credit open. It never reached Ounass in the UAE or Oman, and the only approved listing we found was in Saudi Arabia, unavailable. Our You Amber follows the amber accord with cinnamon and labdanum in the heart over vanilla, benzoin and tonka, and it is the softest of the six family interpretations here, suited to a woman as much as a man. All three sizes are available.

7. My Way

The modern women's Armani. My Way launched in 2020, composed by Carlos Benaim and Bruno Jovanovic, and the house's words are bergamot meeting Egyptian orange blossom in a sparkling start, a heart amplified by Indian tuberose and jasmine, and a base where white musk and Virginia cedarwood combine with Madagascar vanilla, in a family it calls floral woody. It is the Armani with the refillable bottle and the sustainability story, and it is the women's fragrance Ounass Oman carries, at OMR 78.600 for 90 ml, available, against AED 705 to 785 in the UAE depending on the retailer. Our My Way follows the house list almost line for line, down to the Indian tuberose and Madagascar vanilla, and it is our most expensive Armani interpretation. All three sizes are available.

8. Si

The classic women's Armani. Si launched in 2013, composed by Christine Nagel before she became Hermes's in-house perfumer, and the house calls it a modern chypre: blackcurrant liqueur up top, rose de mai absolute and freesia in the heart, patchouli and oakmoss in the base. It is the Armani women's fragrance with the longest shelf life, and it has a family of its own, Passione and Intense among them, that is not what the searcher means. Ounass Oman lists Si Passione at OMR 80.200 but not the original; in the UAE the 50 ml is AED 530 and the 100 ml AED 720 to 780 depending on the retailer. Our Si follows the blackcurrant, rose and freesia reading with vanilla and ambergris in the base. Only the 30 ml is available at the moment, at OMR 3.200.

9. Malachite

The one from the expensive shelf. Vert Malachite belongs to Armani Prive, the house's niche line, in its Les Terres Precieuses set of 2016, and is credited to Fabrice Pellegrin; the house describes a lily accord with ylang ylang and jasmine sambac, what it calls a sensual, lavish white lily. It is the only Armani in this guide with a real Oman price gap: Ounass Oman lists the 100 ml at OMR 157.200 and the 50 ml at OMR 104.800, against AED 1,445 to 1,500 in the UAE. Our Malachite reads the white lily as tuberose and orange blossom over a green bergamot and galbanum opening, on vetiver, oakmoss and musk, greener than the original. For a woman or a man who wants a white floral that smells like money without spending it; the original costs about twenty-four bottles of ours. All three sizes are available.

What the originals cost in Oman

Armani Beauty publishes no Oman price list, so the rial figures are Ounass Oman product pages, read this week: Stronger With You 50 ml OMR 40.900 and the 100 ml plus 10 ml set OMR 52.900; Intensely 100 ml OMR 60.800; Absolutely 100 ml OMR 63.900; My Way 90 ml OMR 78.600; Si Passione 100 ml OMR 80.200; Acqua di Gio eau de parfum 100 ml OMR 69.200; Vert Malachite 100 ml OMR 157.200. Leather, Tobacco, Oud, Amber and the original Si are not listed in Oman at all. Across the border the same bottles are AED 525 to 785 at Ounass and Faces, OMR 55 to 82, so Oman pays no premium where the bottle exists; the problem is the five that do not. The independents in Muscat sell at roughly half; we leave their figures out.

Our nine run from OMR 3.200 for 30 ml of You, You Leather, You Amber, Si or Malachite to OMR 11.000 for 100 ml of My Way, and all of them are in the Armani inspired collection. For the five editions Oman cannot buy at an approved counter, ours are not a cheaper route to the original; they are the only route.

The Armani fragrances you will not find here

Acqua di Gio, the 1996 Alberto Morillas aquatic that is still the most famous men's Armani in the world, has no interpretation on this store, and nor does Armani Code, Si Passione or Stronger With You Intensely, the 2019 toffee edition that Ounass Oman stocks at OMR 60.800. How to choose between them

For the man who wants the famous one, You; for evenings and winter, You Absolutely; for Eid and weddings, Stronger Oud; for the office in December, You Leather; for the one nobody else will be wearing, You Tobacco; and for the softest of the six, shared with a wife or sister, You Amber. For women, My Way by day and for gifts, Si if she already knows it, Malachite if she wants a white floral that reads expensive.

On size, 50 ml on You and My Way, because they get used; 30 ml first on Stronger Oud and You Tobacco, because oud and tobacco divide people; and Si is 30 ml only until the larger sizes return. On weather, because Muscat is not Milan: every member of the You family is sweet and grows louder in heat, so two sprays from May to September and four in winter, with You Absolutely and You Tobacco kept for after sunset in summer. Malachite and My Way are the two that work at noon. These are working rules from character, not longevity figures in hours.
