Who makes Bvlgari perfume
A jeweller, which explains the bottles and the names. Sotirio Bulgari opened his first shop in Rome in 1884, the family spelled the name with a Latin V on the shopfront, and the house stayed in jewellery and watches for a century before it moved into scent. Bulgari Parfums was set up in the early 1990s and runs from Neuchatel in Switzerland rather than Rome; the first fragrance the house counts in its own history is Eau Parfumee au The Vert, the green tea cologne by Jean-Claude Ellena that Bvlgari dates to 1992. LVMH bought the company in 2011, so Bvlgari sits in the same group as Guerlain and Dior, but it does not publish a single house perfumer the way Guerlain does; it commissions by project, and the three fragrances below came from two of the best-known names in the trade, Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.
In Oman the house is searched about 420 times a month across its English and Arabic spellings, which is smaller than Dior or Chanel here but a real number for a jeweller's perfume line. Where to find Bvlgari in Oman
There is no Bvlgari boutique in the Sultanate. The brand's own store locator lists one authorised retailer in Oman, Al Qurum Jewellery at the Opera Galleria by the Royal Opera House in Muscat, and does not say whether it carries fragrance; the nearest Bvlgari boutiques are in Dubai, two in Dubai Mall, on Fashion Avenue and in the Grand Atrium, and one at Mall of the Emirates. What Oman has online is Ounass Oman, which lists more than eighty Bvlgari fragrance references with rial prices and delivers in two to four working days, free above OMR 100, with fragrances non-returnable. The brand's own site has no Oman store and prices the Gulf in dirhams. The three, with the MOJ versions
1. Man in Black: the rum and leather that leads the men's line
Bvlgari's biggest men's name. Man in Black launched in 2014, an eau de parfum composed by Alberto Morillas, the perfumer behind CK One and Acqua di Gio, who has written every Bvlgari Man fragrance since 2010. It was released for the house's 130th anniversary as a tribute to Vulcan, the Roman god of fire, and Bvlgari still frames it as the fire scent of its men's line, with a bottle modelled on the volcanic rock of the Aeolian Islands and a rose gold cap meant to look like cooling lava. The house lists spices on top, tuberose, iris, a leather accord and an ambery rum in the heart, and benzoin, tonka bean and guaiac wood at the base. Editions have followed: a Black Orient parfum, a Black Cologne and an Essence, then in 2024 a Man in Black Parfum that drops the rum for darker woods. Ounass Oman lists the original 100 ml at OMR 78.000, available when we looked.
Our Man in Black opens on rum, spices and bergamot, gives the heart leather, tuberose and iris and settles on tonka bean, benzoin, guaiac wood and amber, the original's idea in the original's order. Three sizes from OMR 2.500, all available this week; the 100 ml at OMR 5.500 is about a fourteenth of the Ounass bottle. 2. Tiger: the gemstone grapefruit
Le Gemme is the collection Bvlgari prices like a niche line and names after stones. It began in 2014 as a set of women's fragrances by Daniela Andrier, and in 2016 the house added Le Gemme Men by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the perfumer of Acqua di Gio and L'Eau d'Issey who has been in house at Louis Vuitton since 2012. Tygar is from that second set, named after tigers eye: Bvlgari's own description is two materials, grapefruit and Ambrox, and third-party listings fill it out to grapefruit and ginger up top, ambrette and ambroxan in the heart, musk, vetiver and patchouli underneath. It is a Gulf structure in everything but passport, a sharp citrus over a big clean amber, which is why it sells here. Ounass Oman lists the 125 ml at OMR 188.000 and the 60 ml at OMR 131.000, and an extrait at OMR 169.000 and 248.000.
Our Tiger, as the Oman store lists it, is a warmer reading of the Tygar idea than the original: bergamot, ginger and saffron on top, cardamom, cinnamon and rose in the heart, then oud, sandalwood, amber and leather at the base, the sharp citrus kept but the clean amber turned into a Gulf amber. Sold as unisex, in three sizes from OMR 4.300, all available this week; the 100 ml at OMR 6.500 is less than a twentieth of the 125 ml Ounass bottle, size for size. Evenings, formal days and weddings from autumn to spring, for a man or a woman who liked Aventus and wants the pineapple gone.

3. Omina Amethyst: the office iris
The quiet one. Omnia Amethyste is an eau de toilette by Alberto Morillas, the third in the Omnia line after Omnia in 2003 and Omnia Crystalline in 2005, unveiled in late 2006 and on counters in 2007. Bvlgari's own notes are green sap and pink grapefruit over iris and Bulgarian rose, on heliotrope and solar woods: an iris and rose that a woman wears to an office in Muscat because nobody three desks away will notice it, and that is the point. It was not on the Ounass Oman pages we could load; for reference, Faces in the UAE listed the 100 ml at AED 642, about OMR 68, and had none to sell.
Our Omina Amethyst opens on bergamot, green sap and pink pepper, puts iris, rose and violet in the heart and settles on heliotrope, woods, white musk and amber. Only the 100 ml is available at the moment, at OMR 5.500; the 30 and 50 ml are not, so the cheapest bottle you can buy today is the biggest. Office, spring and summer, two sprays, for a woman who wants to be the only person who can smell her perfume. The store spells it Omina; Bvlgari spells it Omnia; we print each as its owner does.

The rest of the house, and which to buy first
Bvlgari's range in Oman through Ounass runs to more than eighty references. On the men's side there is Man Wood Essence at OMR 66.000 for 100 ml and the Man Rain Essence of 2023 at the same price, Aqva Pour Homme and the Man in Black Parfum; on the women's side Omnia Crystalline at OMR 79.000, Rose Goldea and Goldea The Roman Night; and in Le Gemme the stones beyond Tygar, Yasep, Orom and Falkar for men and the 2014 women's set. MOJ reads none of those, and we would rather say so than card a product that does not exist. If you want one Bvlgari, buy Man in Black if you are a man who wears amber and leather in the evening; Tiger if you want a citrus amber that works for a woman as well; Omina Amethyst if you want the office floral nobody will complain about.
